The Wairarapa Grave Site at Tapuwai Point by Whangapoua Beach, Great Barrier Island,
where Wairarapa’s third officer, William
Herbert Johnston, landed prior to crossing the
island to seek the help of the community of Ngati
Wai Maori at Katherine Bay.
