Ten Watercolours depicting scenes on Scotland's Island of Rum.

Written from first-hand, on-site research and illustrated from his personal photographic archive by George W. Randall, co-founder in July 1996 and former Vice Chairman Kinloch Castle Friends’ Association.

1.  HARRIS BAY (Rocky Coast at Harris)

The internal glass surface is being  increasingly affected by mold spores.

2. KILMORY BEACH

Sandy Beach at Kilmory   -   Watercolour: 119 x 108 cms.

The distant Cuillin Mountains of the Isle of Skye.

FIVE RUM CUILLIN MOUNTAINS

Range of Five Mountains  -  Watercolour 182 x 119 cms.  Signed and dated 1909.

View south across Glen Harris to Rum Cuillin.

Sgurr nan Gillean (2,506 feet) background left in the picture below is to the right of Ainshval.

Loch Papadil   -   Watercolour 150 x 99 cms. 

Papadil Lodge was very similar this Lodge at Harris, which still exists.

7. & 8. Kinloch Castle by the Bay Head  

There are two identical versions of this watercolour, 

one in the Library the other in the Billiard Room.

PALM AND GREENHOUSE COMPLEX KINLOCH CASTLE 

A staff of fourteen gardeners laid the formal walkways, grottoes and gardens along 

both banks of the Allt Slugan a' Choilich stream. This undated photograph was taken from the driveway's stone bridge over the stream.
