NOTE:
Further research indicates John Bullough
did not purchase the island of Rum at the above advertised sale.
.
The DISPOSITION of sale in favour of John Bullough
by the seller, James Hunter Campbell, is (apparently) dated 14 May 1888.
.
Either way John Bullough did purchase Meggernie Estate with its haunted castle bequeathing it to his son Ian by his second marriage
following his early death on 25 February, 1891.
John Bullough's year of baptism is given as 1837.
In the Christ Church, Accrington record, and on his tomb in the Mausoleum on the island of Rum, his date of birth is given as 1839.
Both the Christ Church record and the Pedigree of Bullough give his age
as fifty-two when he died.

advertising Longholes services with Golden Myth.
Another stallion to initially stand at Longholes was home bred Ethnarch

by 1919 leading sire in Great Britain and Ireland, The Tetrarch
