Monica's love of dogs, particularly Alsatians,
was shared in due course by her daughter, Hermione.
Following the death of Sir George and Lady Bullough's only child, Hermione, Countess of Durham, the Bullough Trustees instructed the inscription below be engraved on a side panel of Lady Bullough's tomb in the Mausoleum.
It reads:
.
IN MEMORY OF HERMIONE, COUNTESS OF DURHAM
ONLY DAUGHTER OF SIR GEORGE AND LADY BULLOUGH OF RHUM
BORN NOVEMBER 5 1900*

Lady Bullough loved roses, this specimen was grown from seeds gathered from a rose hip in Kinloch Castle Rose Garden in 1997 by Dr. Rosalind Randall.
The scent is strong and amazing, the shrub flourishes today in the author's garden.
A three-fold wooden screen measuring 81 x 46½ inches overall containing
twelve prints of important historical personages in the lineage of Lady Bullough,
each mounted behind glass.
.
The Screen is the work of Lady Bullough; in her Somerford Manor journal she traces
her maternal ancestry back to King Edward I ...
